After Care

Permanent makeup after-care is very important to the appearance and longevity of your new permanent makeup tattoo. Please read the following aftercare carefully. If you have any questions, contact us and I'll answer you within the next business day.

EYEBROWS


WHAT YOU CAN DO DURING THE HEALING

  • Once a day ointment - Apply a light veil of gel provided or Paw Paw ointment once a day without rubbing. 
You should stop to apply it when the skin is not flaking anymore (between 7 and 10 days)

  • Face washing - When you wash your face, gently cleanse your eyebrows without rubbing.

  • Showering - When showering, avoid soap and hot water on the tattooed area 


  • Swimming - You can go swimming after 3 days. Wash off the salt/chlorine after the activity. 


  • Gym - You can go to the gym, If there is too much sweat, bring a towel with you and gently dab with a towel

  • Eyebrow waxing - when waxing stay far 1cm from the tattooed area.

WHAT YOU SHOULD AVOID DURING THE HEALING

  • Too much ointment - Avoid multiple daily applications of ointment, excess hydration will soften the skin resulting in the tattoo peeling off/fading too quickly. 


  • Scratching - If your tattoo feels itchy it means that it’s healing, don’t scratch it. 
The skin will be flaking as well so don’t pick it as it will fall off naturally in a few days. 

  • Sun exposure - No long exposure of sun for 3 weeks as well as no sunscreen. Wear a hat instead.


  • Makeup - When applying makeup on your face, completely avoid the eyebrows with brushes, powder and foundation. The makeup particles can get stuck in the dry skin.

  • Sauna or Steam - Including facials and hot yoga, until the flaking is gone.

  • Eyebrow tint - Don’t tint your eyebrows. Tint only after 3 weeks

  • Listed active ingredients - Don’t apply any of the following Retinoids (Vitamin A), e.g. Tretinoin, Retinol, Alpha Beta Hydroxy acids.g. glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, Benzoyl peroxide, Adapalene (Differin) Hydroquinone, azelaic acid, kojic acid


WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT OVER THE NEXT 4 WEEKS:

  • Days 1 - 3: Your eyebrows will appear darker and thicker. Excess of ink and skin fluids are flowing out resulting in dark. Don’t panic, your eyebrows will soften up.

  • Week 1: The skin of your eyebrows will start to dry and be a little flaky, it’s healing and regenerating.
 The color may look uneven. It’s all part of the healing process.

  • After the first week your eyebrows will start to fade and assume a more natural look.


  • Weeks 2 - 3: Your eyebrows will have faded about 20-30%. If you have the feeling that you are losing the color faster than expected, it’s a normal part of the process. From week 4 the ink will be stable

  • Week 4: The skin has healed. Your eyebrows may have turned out perfect or there might be some spots need to be filled in. The 4 week follow up appointment is fundamental to give the perfect finish to your brows.

WHAT YOU SHOULD AVOID AFTER THE HEALING PROCESS

  • Sun exposure - Wear sunscreen it will preserve the colour for longer.

  • Laser, peeling, exfoliating - Ask your beautician to protect the tattooed area before this treatments

  • Moisturising or using special skin treatment cream - Use of products containing the below listed ingredients will make your tattoo fade quick. Avoid the tattooed area

  • Avoid applying - Retinoids (Vitamin A), e.g. Tretinoin, Retinol, Alpha Beta Hydroxy acids.g. glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, Benzoyl peroxide, Adapalene (Differin) Hydroquinone, azelaic acid, kojic acid


LIPS

  • Face washing - When you wash your face, gently cleanse your lips without rubbing.

  • Showering - When showering, avoid soap and hot water on the tattooed area 


  • Swimming - You can go swimming after 3 days. Wash off the salt/chlorine after the activity. 


  • Gym - You can go to the gym, If there is too much sweat, bring a towel with you and gently dab with a towel

WHAT YOU SHOULD AVOID DURING THE HEALING

  • Listed active ingredients - Don’t apply any of the following Retinoids (Vitamin A), e.g. Tretinoin, Retinol, Alpha Beta Hydroxy acids.g. glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, Benzoyl peroxide, Adapalene (Differin) Hydroquinone, azelaic acid, kojic acid


WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT OVER THE NEXT 4 WEEKS:

  • Day 1: The day after the tattoo, your lips may appear a little swell, it’s all good, enjoy the plump.

  • Day 1 - 4: Lips will feel very dry for few days

  • Week 1: The color may appear more vivacious. It will soften when the dry skin will peel off. 

  • Weeks 2 - 3: Your lips will have faded about 20-30%. 

  • Week 4: The skin has healed. Your lips may have turned out perfect or there might be some spots need to be filled in. The 4 week follow up appointment is fundamental to give the perfect finish to your lips.

  • Eyelash tint - Don’t tint your eyelashes. Tint only after 3 weeks

  • Listed active ingredients - Don’t apply any of the following Retinoids (Vitamin A), e.g. Tretinoin, Retinol, Alpha Beta Hydroxy acids.g. glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, Benzoyl peroxide, Adapalene (Differin) Hydroquinone, azelaic acid, kojic acid


WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT OVER THE NEXT 4 WEEKS:

  • Week 1: Expect a barely visible peeling of the tattooed area. The skin will become smooth in few days time.

  • Week 4: The skin has healed. Your eyes may have turned out perfect or there might be some spots need to be filled in. The 4 week follow up appointment is fundamental to give the perfect finish to your eyeliner.
